MichaelSanchezPhotos is a landscape photography brand inspired by the serene and rugged beauty of the Oregon coast. The client approached me with a clear vision: to create a custom logo that felt natural, clean, and modern — without relying on overused symbols like cameras, animals, or mountains.
Project Objective
The goal was to design a minimalist yet distinctive logomark that reflects the client’s deep connection to nature and landscape photography, while also standing out in a competitive creative industry.
Design Process
1. Discovery & Brand Alignment
We began with conversations about the brand’s personality — grounded, peaceful, and detail-oriented. The Oregon coast, known for its misty skies, rugged cliffs, and natural tones, became the creative anchor for the visual direction.
2. Concept Development
Several sketch concepts explored the use of abstract shapes, organic forms, and typographic refinement. The challenge was to create something unique that still felt familiar and timeless.
3. Final Logo Execution
The final logo features a custom wordmark with subtle, refined curves and thoughtful spacing. Paired with a minimalist symbol, the design avoids literal references and instead evokes the essence of calm, expansive landscapes. The natural color palette — inspired by sand, stone, sea, and sky — adds warmth and depth without being overwhelming.
Final Result
The resulting logo is clean, elegant, and brand-focused — a perfect fit for a modern landscape photography business. It scales beautifully across platforms: from website headers to social media, watermarks, and even print materials like photo books and packaging.
